About recent noise

After mostly silence for many months… several Fairmount and Camillus residents reported a reoccurrence of the oscillating hum from the Suez plant in Solvay over Memorial Day Weekend.

Update, 5/29/09: A Camillus resident spoke to a Suez plant manager and reports: “[Suez is] installing some new equipment that is more energy efficient and at the same time will coordinate the fans that they use. Once they have finished the testing and tweaking stage, he says the noise should diminish to where it has been for the past year, at a level that does not bother us. He said next week they will be offline for a couple days and it will be quiet. Then the testing will resume and everything should be resolved within a couple weeks.”
